The finance to put patients first
In 2008 it cost just over £2.7 million to run St Luke's.
The overwhelming majority of this money - 76% - was spent on Patients and Patient Care. Only 4% was spent on Administration. This reflects in a very real way the St Luke's philosophy that the patients come first.
70% of the money to keep St Luke's running has to be raised from the public in one form or another. This is why what YOU do is so important to us. Your sponsored events help us care for our patients, as does your participation in our Lottery. Of the remaining money needed, 25% comes from the Primary Care Trust and Cancer Network, and 5% from Investment Income.
The costs for 2009 are expected to be over £2.7 million.
