How You Can Make a Difference

We are asking businesses in our area to commit to a small donation every month.  It is lovely to receive a large cheque in the post but consistent monthly donations make our long term future more stable. If you can spare even a small amount of money to help us, we will ensure that your donation is used to support the essential work of St Luke's.

We are asking if you could commit to one of the following options.

Monthly Commitment = £25, £50, £100 or alternatively an amount of your choosing

How Your Regular Gift of £25 a Month Will Help

This may seem like a small amount, but just £25 a month would help to pay for a patient's visit to our Day Care Unit, which offers specialist care for up to 15 patients a day.

Our Complementary Therapy Centre helps support patients and their families with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. Our therapies deliver pain relief; help patients gain inner strength and peace from the worries of living with a terminal condition.

"I feel that I was initially very vulnerable, but over the duration of the course have gained much inner strength, focus, acceptance and a positive sense of purpose"  (Patient Comment)

How Your Regular Gift of £50 a Month Will Help

A regular gift of £50 could pay for a family to receive a counselling session or for a patient to receive treatment in our Lymphoedema clinic.

When someone is seriously ill, it affects family, friends and everybody who knows and cares for them. Our Family Support Unit provides a counselling service for patients and families and hospice care continues after death to support families and friends in bereavement.

A Social Care Team is available for advice or practical help with issues related to illness and we provide practical, emotional and spiritual support to all that need our help.

"For me to be able to support other members of my family, I have to be strong and emotionally stable. These sessions have been invaluable in helping me find the way."

How Your Regular Gift of £100 a Month Will Help

A gift of £100 would help to pay for a patient's stay at St Luke's.  Our In-Care Unit has beds for 10 patients for assessment, symptom control, respite and terminal care.

Some patients will come to the hospice for help with difficult symptoms, some to give their carers a break. For some patients and their families, St Luke's is the best place for them to spend their final days. Our specialist nursing team is able to provide the very best hospice care at this important time, allowing patients to die peacefully, in comfort and with dignity.

"St Luke's is a wonderfully calm and comforting place that helped my dad go peacefully without pain and helped my mum and I to understand and prepare for my dad's death"
