When will the collection take place?

The collection will take place between Thursday 11th and .

When must I register my tree by?

The deadline for registration is midnight on Tuesday 9th January.

What time will you collect my tree?

Due to the vast number of trees to be collected we are unable to give an exact time when we will be in your area. Please have your trees out in time for the collection to start at 7.

When you register for your tree to be collected we will send you an email confirming the day it will be collected.

Where should I place my tree?

Where possible leave it on your property close to the road where it can be easily seen. If you have to leave it on the pavement please ensure it is not a safety hazard to others. Please ensure that your tree can be retrieved safely by our volunteers.

How do I make my donation?

Please donate online when you register your tree.

What is the minimum donation?

The aim of the Collection is to raise money for the Hospice so we hope everyone will donate. There is no minimum donation but please give generously to support your Hospice, its patients and their families – we do not make any profit by simply recycling your tree.

What should I do if you don’t collect my tree?

If you see our vans and they seem to pass by without collecting your tree, it may be because your tree is being collected by another team later in the day.

What happens to my tree?

Your tree is taken to a specially set-up depot where it is reduced down in size either by chipping or mulching. The resultant mulchings are then taken to a location where they are composted under controlled conditions to become a valuable soil improver that is used for agricultural purposes in place of artificial fertilisers. Girlguiding Cheshire Forest then use the chippings to make pathways in their camp, putting your tree to great use here in Cheshire!

Could I or my company sponsor the Collection?

We are always keen to find new sponsors who can provide monetary or practical help to the Collection. If you would like to help in this way please contact Jane Thompson on 01606 555688 or email jane_thompson@stlukes-hospice.co.uk.
