‘Alsager Carnival played host to St Luke’s on Saturday 16 June, Luke the bus and fundraiser Jessica Wilkes-Reading were on hand to entertain local people. The Hospice bus and hospice mascot (both called Luke) took part in the carnival parade. Alsager Ladies Circle, who this year are supporting ST Luke’s Hospice as their chosen charity were dressed up on their 101 Dalmatians float with Sharon McLean providing the entertainment as Cruella De-Vil!

Once the parade reached the school field Gingerbread Men decorating was the order of the day on the St Luke’s stand and we estimate over 100 Gingerbread Men were decorated by local children and some adults, including the St Luke’s Volunteers Carol and Jean! The Alsager Ladies Circle tea tent made over £800 for St Luke’s and we are so grateful for their support and choosing us as their charity this year.

A huge thanks also to Lorraine, Adam and Aimee Standring for helping with the float and being a part of the St Luke’s stand and parade. A great time was had by all and we look forward to other forthcoming events in the local community.

To help St Luke’s with events such as this we need volunteers to run stalls for us, if you could help us do this in the Alsager area and would like to register as a ‘Friend of the Hospice’ then please contact Jessica Wilkes-Reading  on 01606 555488.
