Graham Evans MP was today volunteering at our Hartford shop. Graham is the Member of Parliament for Weaver Vale and is learning all about volunteering this week as he travels around his constituency to see all the different kinds of work people can get involved in.

Graham said: “I am always staggered by the hard work so many people in my constituency do for the benefit of others. Volunteering is a great way of engaging with your community, getting to meet new people and share new experiences.”

Volunteers play a vital role in the Hospice and it would not be able to function without the time and effort each and every volunteer gives to us. Our shops rely on volunteers to help with the day to day staffing and running of not only Hartford shop but our other retail outlets. If you could spare a few hours a month then contact the volunteer support team on 01606 555690.

Sarah Goodier, Hartford shop Manager said “Graham was a fantastic volunteer and helped with sorting the donations, pricing and tagging them, which is a vital part of a shop volunteers role. He also helped serve customers and greeted people as they came into the shop. Graham was able to see that Hartford shop stocks a wide range of pre-loved clothing and accessories as well as baby and small children’s clothing at fantastic prices.

So if you just want to browse or looking for that special item come in and see the team at Hartford and why not stay for a coffee and a scone that are made on the premises by our Assistant Manager Sarah Burgess!”
