In June of this year, Hugh Lewis-Morgan, from Sandbach, took part in the first ever 24-hour Trans-Pennine Challenge walk raising £570 for St Luke’s.

Hugh (of  Susan Howarth & Co Solicitors Ltd in Northwich) joined hundreds of walkers in a bid to travel by foot from Didsbury to the Don Valley stadium in Sheffield within one day and throughout the night of June 22-23.

St Luke’s is a cause very close to Hugh’s heart and he undertook the walk in memory of his late mother Jacqueline, who received respite care  20 years ago. Hugh commented:

“It is particularly appropriate to remember both my mother and the work of the hospice movement. “The care which my mother received, after being diagnosed with cancer in her 60s, was second to none – the Hospice staff were fantastic and nothing was too much for them. “

Thanks so much Hugh! Your support means the world to us.
