1-7 June is a national awareness week known as Volunteers Week, a chance for us to say thank you. In 2013 our volunteers contributed 85,831 hours of their time. This was equivalent to £516,185 if national minimum wage was paid, or a massive £814,828 at equivalent NHS salary scales. This is a truly remarkable service to St Luke’s.

Claire Langston, Director of Income Generation says

“We know that volunteers don’t volunteer for the thanks, but we would like to say thank you. The impact of St Luke’s work has grown so much during the last 12 months and their volunteering really has made a difference to the hospice as a whole. Every hour that people have volunteered has helped us to stay open and support the patients and families who have needed St Luke’s.”

St Luke’s is so proud of our incredible team of volunteers – they all make a real difference to the lives of people around them and in their community.

On behalf of everyone at St Luke’s we say a massive thank you to every single volunteer!
