Hospice staff, volunteers and visitors got together today at St Luke’s for a ‘Tea@2’ event as part of national hospice awareness month.
Themed #GoYellow, the month of June is an opportunity for St Luke’s to get people to think about hospice care and have a bit of fun in doing so.
Nurses baked cakes, our matron made some delicious individual quiches, and our benefits adviser opted for a ‘healthy’ banana bars recipe. Fundraising and volunteering rustled up some fabulous tea cup shaped biscuits, flapjacks individual banoffee puddings, mini sponges and lemon curd cakes to name but a few. Not to be outdone, one of the gents in our accounts team baked some glorious blondies.
The hour was a great success with visitors from outside popping in too.
Rhys Edwards, fundraiser for St Luke’s said “Thanks so much to everyone who came along and people who produced the gorgeous goodies. It was lovely to catch up with both staff and visitors. We are thrilled to say that £61.26 was raised for patient care”.
