St Luke’s double decker Routemaster bus (known as ‘Luke’) has been treated to a spruce up by a team at Bentley Motors in Crewe.

The team spent their weekend working together to refresh the St Luke’s bus. After five years of busy use, the bus was ready for some tender loving care and the team kindly offered to freshen it up by repainting the inside, detailing the outside and refitting the veneer panels which were hand crafted by the Wood Shop.

St Luke’s has been using the bus for events since 2009 when it was originally refurbished by Bentley. In this latest round of refreshments, a new “London Transport” decal was applied and new leather side panels were manufactured and fitted in the bus with the Bentley and St Luke’s logos incorporated. The specialist support from Bentley gave the project a real cross-functional feel.

Mark Porter, Corporate and Community Fundraiser said “Luke our bus looks wonderful, we can’t thank the team enough. Bentley’s continued support for St Luke’s is very much appreciated.”

The bus is currently decked out as St Luke’s ‘Frock Stop’. At the end of October it will be transformed into a fabulous Santa’s Grotto by Petty Pool College in Northwich. ‘Santa on tour’ is available for bookings in the local areas (Northwich, Winsford, Middlewich, Sandbach, Tarporley, Alsager, Audlem, Crewe, Nantwich and Holmes Chapel).

If your school or community event would like to book Santa’s Grotto to attend your event, please contact Mark Porter on 01606 555697, email mark_porter@stlukes-hospice.co.uk
