At the end of March, Dr Kate Smith (our medical director) launched an appeal to help raise funds for extra nursing and medical care. The response from people like you has been so heart warming.
We all know the difference that hospice care can make to the lives of those that we love and care for, and the families that have to pick up the pieces after a loved one has died.
These are a few of the comments we have received in response to Dr Kate’s appeal:
“As soon as I opened the letter, I had to donate. Dr Kate has a smile that would brighten anyone’s day no matter how low they are feeling”
“I remember the nurses in the photo when they cared for my dad many years ago. They treated him with immense compassion and dignity. Thank you St Luke’s”
“I knew that my sister was in the best possible place in her final days. I was privileged enough to be able to witness the care and attention that you gave her. St Luke’s will always have a special place in my memories”
On behalf of the hospice, thank you so much to everyone who has donated and shared their memories with us. It is a great honour for us to be part of your lives and to continue to support the patients and families who need us.
