Winsford based Over Allotment Association have raised over £870 for St Luke’s and donated a fresh pumpkin!

Throughout 2015 Over Allotments Association hosted three fundraising events, members arranged a plant sale in May, an open day in July. The final fundraising event took place in September with a performance of Raising Agents at the Winsford Academy Theatre from performing arts company Mikron.

Over Allotments Association is a community group of about 100 people, all of whom are Winsford residents who tend to allotment plots at Over Allotments, Moss Bank, Winsford. Over Allotments were named the second best allotment site in the North West region (Cheshire, Lancashire, Merseyside, Greater Manchester), and the only site in Cheshire to be placed, now titled the of ‘Pride of Cheshire’.

Sue Henshall, Secretary of Over Allotment Association added, “St Luke’s is an integral part of our community and we are proud to have contributed to our local Hospice. St Luke’s means so much to so many people and that’s one of the reasons why we chose to fundraise. Each plot member chose to fundraise for St Luke’s as there chosen charity.”

Vickie Baddeley Corporate and Community Fundraiser added, “We’d like to say a big thank you to John Malam (Chair),  Sue Henshall (Secretary of Over Allotment Association) and everyone at Over Allotments Association for raising £870 for St Luke’s Hospice. We truly appreciate the support shown from all members at the Over Allotment, the money raised will help Hospice care and services.”
