To mark International Nurses’ Day, Crewe-based healthcare business Jane Lewis donated 25p for every hour its nurses worked that day to St Luke’s Cheshire Hospice in Winsford.

The funds donated by Jane Lewis will go towards maintaining the excellent respite care at the Hospice, provided by its team of committed nurses. Further services such as counselling and support, which St Luke’s offers every patient’s family, will also be supported by the donation.

Jane Lewis branch manager, Carmen Eardley said: “Through providing staffing support to St Luke’s we have become extremely aware of the fantastic service it provides its patients as well as the hard work and skill its nurses demonstrate on a daily basis. We are therefore very happy to be able to support the hospice with our Nurses’ Day donation.”

Corporate partnerships manager, Damon Cripps said: “Without such generous and fabulous supporters such as Jane Lewis, St Luke’s Hospice couldn’t deliver its very special and precious care to patients and families affected by life limiting illness within mid-Cheshire. It is a privilege and pleasure to work with Carmen and Gavin and I can never say thank you enough.”

Established in 1987, Jane Lewis was named Family Business of the Year at the High Sheriff of Cheshire Enterprise Awards 2015 and has ambitious plans for growth over the next 24 months including adding to its six branches nationwide and strengthening its complex care offering.
