Wincanton Logistics, based in Middlewich have very kindly answered our call for help in funding a Thermomix processor to be used at the hospice.

The food processing gadget is a specialist piece used to create pureed dishes of various consistencies, that are palatable for those suffering from dysphagia – the medical term for someone with swallowing difficulties.

Patients that have difficulty swallowing often have emotional anxiety around eating foods of various consistencies and so this machine will go some way to reducing that distress whilst also saving the catering staff value time in food preparation.

St Luke’s Hospice are extremely grateful for the generous support from Wincanton Logistics and look forward to working more closely with their charity committee in the future.
