#GivingTuesday is a global day for giving. It’s a day when people around the world unite to give something back. It originated in America as a contrast to ‘Black Friday’ and ‘Cyber Monday’ which also occur in November. More than 70 countries around the world, including the UK, Germany, Spain, Australia and Brazil, now take part in #GivingTuesday.
This year #GivingTuesday takes place on Tuesday 29th November 2016. There are many ways that you could take part and give something to help people living with life-limiting illnesses in Mid and South Cheshire.
How you can help on #GivingTuesday
Donate Your Unwanted Goods
We rely on the generosity of the local community to donate good quality items for our shops to sell to raise money. All of our shops accept goods during opening hours and a warm welcome is sure to await you. Locate your nearest shop.
St Luke’s is proud to have over 1000 volunteers who make the Hospice the special place that it is. Voluntary work can be weekly, fortnightly, monthly or much more occasional, such as volunteering at one of our fundraising events or in one of our shops. When life-limiting illness strikes it doesn’t just affect one person. And neither does our care. At St Luke’s we offer counselling and bereavement support to every patient’s family, preparing and helping them understand their grief and cope with their loss.
To do this we need your help. Setting up a regular donation will mean we can care for local people through the healing process of bereavement support and give them confidence in their future.
With opportunities to give goods, time or money, there are many ways you can get involved in #GivingTuesday for St Luke’s Hospice. We’d love to hear about what you do to support us. Share your fundraising activities with us on Twitter and Facebook.
Thank you for your support.
