Eileen Moncrieff sadly passed away at the Hospice last April and her friend, Virginia Hunt from Leftwich, raised £130 in her memory. Eileen was the Secretary of Marshall’s Arm Nature Reserve voluntary group in Hartford and the money raised through a raffle by the group was donated to St Luke’s.
“Eileen was passionate about the outdoors and loved the variety of wildlife a garden can attract so it seemed only fitting that we requested that the money donated would be used to enhance the gardens for others to enjoy at the Hospice. We have been able to add crab apple trees, clematis, honeysuckle and flowering shrubs which will attract birds, butterflies and insects all year round,” said Virginia.
Virginia came along to the Hospice on a lovely Spring morning to see where the shrubs and trees have been planted and she was welcomed by our team of volunteer gardeners who she will be helping on a monthly basis as well as being our volunteer calligrapher for our book of memories.
