Gym enthusiasts have given St Luke’s an income boost thanks to a series of Spinathon sessions held at Simply Gym in Crewe.
The event, which was organised by former sergeant major, Phil Clapperton, saw each participant pay £5 to take part which altogether raised an incredible £1,251.
A special mention goes to Kindertons Accident Management who helped to reach this figure, topping up funds with additional support from employees.
Katy Yates, who works for Kindertons rallied some of her co-workers to the cause, which included Ben Mcdonnell, Chairman of the Crewe and Nantwich Round Table. In hearing about their efforts, Ben agreed to match fund what they had raised and collectively the group really pulled together to support the hospice.
Corporate Partnerships Manager, Steve Cook said: “We are extremely grateful to Phil Clapperton and his fellow Simply Gym members for their efforts in raising such an incredible amount.
The team first got together back in October of last year and then held a further event at Christmas to raise money for the Hospice with the help of fellow gym members. This was then further matched, so we’d like to extend a huge thank you to the team and Simply Gym for accommodating their efforts.”
