When Emma Heath decided to raise funds for our Hospice, two members of her family were fighting Lung and Liver Cancer.
She set herself a challenge to run not just one marathon but four running challenges over a three month period! Snowdonia Trail Marathon on 23rd July, The Gritstone Ultra Marathon on 2nd September, Sandstone 17 miles on 1st October and the final marathon is The Chester Marathon on 8th October.
It was an incredibly emotional journey for Emma as her father sadly passed away on 4th August here at St Luke’s Hospice.
Here are the details of the races:
Snowdonia Trial marathon 6:07 a very tough run, over 27 miles
The Gritstone Ultra – 3rd lady, 6.3 over 34.4 miles
Sandstone Trail – 17mile race complete today 2:45 tough cold and muddy – toenails still intact!
The Final One – Emma smashed her time from last year by 12 mins – best for age 3:43.10.
“I have finished on a high completing some very hard events that I would have never thought I could do, all for my Dad”.
We are so proud of what Emma has achieved and doing all this whilst losing her beloved dad and raising an incredible amount of £1,001.25 for Hospice Care. We really are so grateful to her.
