Hundreds of visitors flocked to Winsford Academy on Saturday 18th November for our Community Christmas Fair, helping to raise an incredible £6,500 for St Luke’s.

The annual event, organised by our wonderful nurses, is an annual fixture in our fundraising calendar and it was the first time the event had been held at the school.

Visitors were treated to over 30 stalls selling a variety of goods including Christmas gifts, homeware, local ales, crafts and more. Local performing arts groups kept people entertained throughout the day with a number of dance performances in the atrium and Father Christmas made a special appearance too.

One of our nurses, Michaela Carr, helped to organise the event and was delighted with how it went:

“On behalf of everyone at the Hospice, we’d like to say a great big thank you to the people of Winsford and our local community who came out in force to support our fair.

“We’d like to also thank everyone who donated items for our raffle and tombola, to all of our stallholders as well as the Winsford Academy for being so accommodating. We are overwhelmed by the amount raised this year which will go towards helping patients in our care this Christmas.”

Our Christmas fundraising continues as our Routemaster Bus has been transformed into a Grotto and will be attending the Winsford Lights switch on this Friday amongst other local events over the next few weeks. We’d also love for people to support our Christmas Jumper Day on Friday 8th December. For more information please contact our Community Fundraising team on 01606 555811.
