Our fundraising efforts have been given a New Year boost thanks to a generous donation from Northwich Rotary Club.
A cheque for £1,500 was this week been presented to the Hospice. It was raised at the inaugural Northwich River Festival and Rowing Regatta, which was held in August.
Claire Langston, Director of Income Generation at St Luke’s Hospice, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have received this generous donation from Northwich Rotary Club.
“I understand the River Festival was a huge success and we would like to thank the Rotary Club and the 14 dragon boat teams that raised this money for St Luke’s through sponsorship.
“Our Hospice celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, and it is thanks to donations like this that we are able to continue providing exceptional care to patients and their families.”
John Walton from Northwich Rotary Club said: “The Rotary club of Northwich is proud to support the vital work done by St Luke’s Cheshire Hospice, and to be able to do so with monies raised from such an enjoyable event as the Northwich River Festival makes it so much the better.
“Although the main beneficiary was St. Luke’s, we were able to distribute some funds to other good causes as well, thanks to the efforts of the teams entered in the Dragon Boat challenge and, of course, our famous Duck Race.”
The Northwich River Festival is to be held again this year on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th July 2018 (northwichriverfestival.org.uk).
