If you are one of the many people who like the sound of signing up to a challenge event for St Luke’s but the prospect of raising sponsorship scares you, we offer lots of opportunities and various ways to support you in reaching your target.

How we can help you to fundraise

Many of our supporters who want to take on a fundraising challenge feel like they cannot ask friends and family for sponsorship particularly if they have taken part in other fundraising events before. As an additional way to boost your funds, we offer our supporters a number of fundraising opportunities.

In October 2017, we took some of our supporters on an adventure of a lifetime as they trekked across the Sahara Desert for St Luke’s. With a fundraising target of £1,600 each, it certainly felt like a challenge in itself before setting foot on the Sahara.

In September 2016, we held an information evening for our Sahara Trek. It was very well attended by people who wanted to find out more including Julia and Forbes from Northwich.

“When Forbes and I decided to sign up for the Trek Sahara the fundraising target seemed like a massive task especially as we needed to raise £3,200 between us and almost put us off,” said Julia.

“However, the team at St Luke’s promised that there would be opportunities to ‘earn’ money for the trek and I must admit that initially, I was very sceptical, However, they were absolutely spot on!”

“If you are prepared to put the time in then the money is out there! We have parked cars at the Nantwich Spooktacular, sold and wrapped Christmas trees, held buckets and bag packed in supermarkets, all arranged by the fab fundraising team at St Luke’s. We just needed to commit the time and turn up. To date, with the earning opportunities provided by St Luke’s, we raised over £1,500 before we asked friends and family.

“Without the help and support of the St Luke’s events team, trekking in the Sahara would have been be a dream, but with a bit of work, time and plenty of smiles it’s amazing to see how generous people are with their money and very humbling when they tell you about their experiences with the hospice. It may sound a bit corny or a cliche, but doing this is so worthwhile, even if we weren’t going to Morocco,” said Julia.
