Everyone’s experience of losing somebody significant is different. You may experience physical and emotional effects that are difficult for you to understand or need support in making sound decisions amidst the emotional upset. Speaking confidentially and openly with one of our counsellors may help you to come to terms with your bereavement.
In addition to one to one counselling sessions, we also provide a bereavement support group on the first Monday of each month between 7.30pm and 9.30pm (or second Monday if it falls on a bank holiday) for as long as you feel it is of benefit to you. The evenings are an opportunity to talk to people in a similar situation to your own and several members of the Family Support Team also attend the group.
Each October we organise an evening of remembrance, to collectively cherish the memories of the people who we have lost.
We accept both self-referrals and referrals by professionals within and outside the Hospice. Our services are provided free of charge and you do not need a prior connection with St Luke’s to access the counselling service. Contact us on 01606 551246 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
